While
it may only be April, Universal Orlando will be holding auditions for the
return of The Rocky Horror Picture Show Tribute for this year’s Halloween
Horror Nights. While this is just speculation, one might assume that since
they are bringing back this show, HHN will be held in the Studios once again
in 2008. According to the audition sheet here is a complete list of dates
of HHN 2008 – “SEPT 24, 26, 27, OCT 2,3,4,5,9,10,11,12,16,17,18,19,22,23,24,25,26,29,30,31
AND NOV 1ST.” we'll be there anyway, so look for a full review when we
get back. We'll also be at Mickeys-Not-So-Scary Halloween, Seaworld Spooktacular,
and Howl-O-Scream.CANT WAIT!
With
the exciting news of Gears of War 2 coming out this November Marcus Fenix
returns, and things just got a lot more interesting. Gears 2 is under development
at Epic Games, the studio that created the original blockbuster, and they
are hell-bent on bringing a bigger, badder, and even more intense experience
to your Xbox 360® this holiday.
We've also posted up in the collectables section the final packaged images of the Gears of War action figures from NECA toys. To say we are a little excited about the new game and the collectables is an understatement.
If you like your Horror movies full of gore too, we think we have found the movie for you. Look out for Tokyo Gore Police coming soon. I have to admit, we are really looking forward to this movie as we are also big fans of Asian cinema. For a 5 minute look at the movie click here.
So lets get the bad news out of the way first. News on another Haunt closing down, Terror In Orlando looks like its dead and buried. We visited it last October and to be honest felt let down by the experience. Not enough scares, or actors for my liking. However i give it full 10/10 for the zombie nurse that we paid our entrance fee to. If you want more detail regarding haunts, go and visit Haunted Attractions.
Over
the weekend i had the chance of catching a horror gem on Channel 5. This great
little movie was Monster Squad, if you havent seen it your missing out. Its
basially Goonies
meets Universal
Monsters, but with all the 80's cheese and greatness you can imagine.
Its that enjoyable i decided to review it and
stick it in the reviews section. Also we have added some pics in the Frightbook
section of our very drunk and stupid Fright Factory UK Halloween ball which
was held last Oct. Thanks for everyone that came, it was a great night.
There
are also certain words that make my brain actually stand to attention when
my ears hear the words, Zombie, Strippers, and Jenna Jameson. Yes folks even
better news is that Zombie Strippers featuring Robert England and Jenna Jameson
is going to hit cinemas on April 18th. It will probably be terrible but personally
i think the idea sounds brilliant, but you can
check the trailer out here
So
details still very sketchy on what is happening this year at Universal Halloween
Horror Nights. Is Jack coming back?? We hope not. Rumors are circulating that
they are working on a urban tales theme. However we have heard rumors of a
full Zombie theme, ranging across all the George A Romero classics, to even
a SAW theme. There is nothing to say they wont do them all or maybe none,
so lets wait and see. As soon as we hear anymore we will let you know.
You can see some pics of us at Halloween Horror Nights 17 in the Frightbook section. And yes we was a little tipsy in some of em! We did enjoy HHN 17, but felt it was lacking something, maybe it was the scarezones. The Haunted Houses all looked great, but offered no scares or nothing new. Lets keep our fingers crossed that they come up with the goods in 2008 cause we already have our flights booked for HHN 18.
And finally if you have anything to say or need to contact us, here are the details mark@frightfactoryuk.com
